| Ferret is a DSTO and Ausrobot collaborative product, it is a remotely operated inspection, identification and surveillance system designed to provide both close and long range visual surveillance. Ferret offers users a rapid response with a deployment time of less than 5 minutes providing operators with a low cost, versatile and highly mobile surveillance capability for use in counter terrorist, bomb incidents, vital asset protection, covert or overt route or track observation, hostage, siege situations or other roles where remote inspection, surveillance is required with video.
Ferret is fitted with an auto-focus tilt camera and driving lights. An external swappable battery allows extended operations. Ferret’s small size and mobility allow it to move freely for up to 2 hours, up to 800 m from the operator's console.
