Ausrobot undertakes research in a broad range of technology areas to help solve problems through development of mechatronic solutions through the adaptation and integration of existing technologies merged with the technologies created in Ausrobot research and development labs.
Sensor Technologies
Ausrobot has integrated the following advanced sensor technologies in our systems to provide unprecedented robotic intelligence:
- Vision systems (including: DSP, thermal imagery, broadcast video)
- Motion detection and monitoring
- Laser and ultrasonic distance measurement
- Infra red vision and remote sensing
- Explosive ordinance particle and/or trace detection
- Absolute and relative navigation systems
Control Fundamental to all Ausrobot developments is the ability to develop intelligent onboard processing to create ‘smart’ systems capable of performing sophisticated and complicated tasks. Ausrobot's research focuses on the following key development areas: Automation and navigation Advanced control and expert systems Integrating intelligent sensor information Simplified control communications and methods Control solutions suitable for use in hazardous and dangerous environments
HMI Ausrobot is developing new ways for humans to interact with mechatronic systems to allow seamless control. These systems include:
Head Up Displays Notebook computer and Joystick integration Embedded software development into “smart” user control systems Graphical User Interface development Remote or long distance operations accommodating transient delays
Mobility Ausrobot has identified and developed solutions to overcome the mobility challenges created by the variability of terrains which robotic platforms encounter.
Ausrobot has developed solutions which require an adaptable mobility system to meet specific user requirements. The AUSROBOT Adaptive Mobility System™ (AMS) enables our solutions to accommodate a wide range of alternative applications and terrain environments. These solutions include:
Size Ausrobot solutions are designed fit for purpose with due consideration to constantly minimising the overall dimensions of the solution without compromising functionality.
As electronics and sensor systems continue to shrink in size, AUSROBOT’s solutions will continue to scale accordingly. We envisage a world where micro robots will perform duties which were previously difficult or prohibitive to undertake. Technologies currently under research and incorporation include:
